Desert Winds Community Church exists to reach unchurched people of the Antelope Valley to make them into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Therefore, we commit ourselves to this purpose through our four "C's" as we:

Communicate Christ To The World

(Matt. 28:19-20; Luke 4:18; Acts 1:7-8)

Jesus specifically commanded his followers to "go" out into the world and "make disciples of every nation." It is because of this "C" that Desert Winds was founded and reflects our purpose statement.

We are committed to being a mission of healing and hope of the Good News of God's love in Jesus Christ, not only to the people of the Antelope Valley, but to the entire world as we seek to cooperate with the greater church of Jesus Christ.

We are commited to penetrating into our local community with the message of God's love we have experienced.

Through our words and actions as we seek to build bridges of God's love into the lives of our neighbors, friends and family members.

Through meeting the physical needs of those who are poor and hungry, as we seek to work with and alongside in partnership with local agencies.

It is our belief that every Christian must be ready at all times and in all situations to share his or her faith in Christ with gentleness and respect with those who do not have a relationship with Him (1 Peter 3:15).

Cultivate Personal Growth In Christ

(Eph. 4:11-13; II Tim. 2:2)

We are committed to communicating the truths and principles of God's Word, the Bible, from a positive and life-changing perspective.

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and authoritative Word of God as we seek to be instructed in every aspect of our faith and daily life. (II Tim. 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21)

Therefore, we are committed to preaching what is biblical, relevant and applies to the listener's needs; that will cultivate the life of Christ in the heart of every person as they live for Him.

We are committed to encouraging each person at the church to participate in a Bible Study/Care group as we seek to study God's Word and live it out in our daily lives. (James 1:22-25)

Care About One Another In Christ

"A Caring Place To Belong" is the theme statement for Desert Winds. We are committed to being a place where every person who comes to Desert Winds will feel accepted, loved, and cared for by others. Therefore, we want to be a place where you can be yourself, where you can feel safe to share your joys as well as your sorrows and struggles, and find hope and encouragement from fellow strugglers.

We are committed to caring for you through the Bible Study Care Groups, where you can experience the close fellowship of the family of God in a small, non-threatening environment.

We are committed to being a place where newcomers are made to feel welcome without being embarrassed

Celebrate The Life Of Christ

(Psalm 145:7; Revelation 4:8-11; 5:6-14)

Celebration is defined as an event to come together for festivities or ceremonies in honor of a person and/or event. We call our church services "Celebrations" because that is what we do - We honor the person of Jesus Christ and the event of His presence with us. (Matthew 18:20; 28:20)

We seek to Celebrate the life of Christ in a contemporary, uplifting and vibrant way.

Music in worship is a major focus of Desert Winds as we seek to involve every person in the praise of God.

Our Music is a blend of the best from contemporary praise songs and familiar hymns.

It is not our goal to entertain but to lead each celebrant into the presence of the Living God. "God is the audience of our worship, the pastor and worship team are the prompters, and the celebrants are the actors."

We believe that this can only happen through the work and leading of the Holy Spirit as He directs our praise to God and administers the Lord's blessings to us. (John 4:24)
